Are you ready for the weekend?

Lookin’ good, my fellow French Pleat Makers!

Thank you for all your photos this week, it’s been great to see you developing your techniques, and playing around with new styles. I’m so proud of you!

I’m letting you in on my #100pleats100days journey here:

Before this challenge, I was not a French-Pleat-wearer. *gasp*

You can’t really see it from my photos, but my head-shape is very rounded. This means that chignons, buns, top-knots and ponytails are all very flattering styles for me, but french pleats are not so much, and so I would hardly ever wear one. My personal goal for this challenge was to work on my technique and learn to make this classic style work for me.

I think I’m seeing some progress; after a few days solid pleat-wearing, I am feeling less self-conscious about the shape it creates, and I did get a compliment on my commuter train into work today. It’s the little things…

If you haven’t tried a hair fork yet, it’s a great technique to master. Once you’ve got it, it’s so easy that it’ll be your go-to, 3 second hairstyle.

See our great tutorial video here:

Here are some of the lovely pleats our other entrants have sent in this week:

Remember, if you need any help, feel free to give me shout. Send me an email to, and I’ll be there in flash.

Enjoy your weekend, and keep your pleats coming!

Day 2 – Sneaky Pleat…

Wow, so many brilliant entries flooding in today!

Here’s mine…

Today I’m using a hair claw, and leaving my ends out. A bit more relaxed than the style from yesterday, I’m sneakily covering up a case of helmet hair from cycling into Stone Bridge HQ this morning…

Here are a few great styles sent in so far…

Let me know how you’re getting on, leave me a comment below…

Day 1 – Just Try it!

How are you doing today? Ready, and raring to go!?

I’m diving straight in. My French Pleat today looks like this:CPf0kmGWwAAbTXY

Now, I’m pretty happy with this. A French Pleat isn’t my go-to style normally, so I’m enjoying getting some practice in…

I’ve used a French U Pin to make my pleat. Never used one before?

It’s easy when you know how 😉
